Is there a place on the internet that has templates for (reasonably) accurate neck profiles? Full size would be better than representations, but I will take what I can find. I have seen stuff like this at Warmoth but it is for electrics. In this case I am looking for a vintage martin 000-12. |

which "vintage"? Year? Model? Make? They all varied a lot, being as they were mostly handmade, with rather big changes between years/models. You really need to narrow this one down. |

[/QUOTE] You're point is well taken. However, I don't know what I am looking for. At this point it is just research. I was sort of hoping to find a site that had a whole bunch of them displayed. A book would be fine too.... I don't mind parting with a little cash if I can find what I am looking for. |

I understand what you're saying, Brock, but they really do vary -that- much. Even the widths changed on pre-war Martins in '39. Then the necks on D-18's got really small in the 50's. At one point, the sharp V gave way to big and round. Gibsons went from baseball bat round and thick in the 30's and 40's to skinnier than skinny in the 60's. LEs Paul's were big and round and wide early one, etc..... But for the most part, what people think of "vintage' in neck shape is a well defined 'V' shape, with more thickness than most of today's 'modern' necks. |
